We have a new ordinance which reportedly goes into affect tomorrow Jan 2, 2012 this new law says that there wont be any busking allowed in the center of our little town. instead we have been relagated to and area that has far less foot traffic. Also we now must purchase a permit for $10.00 I feel I must point our that this ordinance does not solve a pressing government need. As the supreme court has dictated. (CHARLOTTETOWN) Things are rapidly shaping up for Prince Edward Island's inaugural buskerfest to be held over Labour Day weekend in August.The festival will not only feature daytime performances but nighttime performances as well. The international event will feature buskers from across Canada, the United States, and Argentina including some who have broken several world's records.

Jason Henderson is the festival’s artistic director and can be seen walking over glass barefoot while juggling fire among other amazing feats. He said the idea for holding the event came last year on Canada Day.

The New Hot 105.5 FM radio station is the media sponsor for the buskerfest. Other performers for the initial event will include Victor Rubilar, Fire Guy, James Jordan, Trulee Odd, and Dave Cox.

(WWW) From his first card trick at age 6 through his tightrope walk between Manhatten's Twin Trade Towers, high-wire artist Philippe Petit takes you on an intimate journey as a death-defying magician.Petit has reportedly been arrested over 500 times. Surprisingly, a majority of those 500 arrests occurred while he was juggling on the street in Paris, according to the performer himself. Many of his larger stunts have been done within the confines of the law, however, including a tightrope walk over the Seine from the Palais de Chaillot to the Eiffel Tower.

His first documentary "Man on Wire" has recently been reprised with Hollywood's movie version "The Walk". In both, he is introduced to his love interest because of his dedication to wire walking. Petit still practices walking the wire for hours...
