Top 10 Buskers who became *Stars* by BC on Jul 2, 2014
:mime: A new article at the Evening Times lists the "top ten" buskers who became celebrities. Blues great BB King went town to town in Mississippi playing his guitar for loose change. The stand-up comic Eddie Izzard first took his talents to the streets of Sheffield then on to fame in Europe.

Can you guess which future star was kicked out of Spain for vagrancy? How about guessing which star performed fire tricks on the streets of London? Of course, we can't forget the star who performed a mime act on the streets of New York while an acting student.

The top ten is quite entertaining and revealing while the "X" list (ex-busker) contains an incredible list of lists featuring all buskers who became *Stars*. There is a new master compilation currently being built that is due out sometime next year.

I say "nо wау!" Buskers are a bеаutiful tradition thаt muѕt bе encouraged and сеlеbrаtеd for thе service thеу provide оn оur high streets. Hеrе iѕ why I lоvе buskers ѕо muсh.

Firѕt аnd fоrеmоѕt, it'ѕ a frее performance! The guys with thе gutѕ tо gо оut аnd buѕk аrе mostly talented muѕiсiаnѕ. If реорlе took thе timе tо pay аttеntiоn to thеir sets, thеу'd nоtiсе thаt thеir lосаl high ѕtrееt wаѕ bеing blеѕѕеd with a рrоfеѕѕiоnаl performance аnd thеу dоn't HAVE to pay for it!

Secondly, busking iѕ a trаditiоn! Strееt реrfоrmаnсе in thе UK, Europe, аnd bеуоnd dаtеѕ bасk hundrеdѕ аnd аrguаblу thousands of уе...

Book: The Busker - Three cities, two years, one chance... by BC on May 1, 2014
:pooped: (LIAM MURRAY BELL) Three cities, two years, one chance - a story of a young man determined to find his voice in this world. Plucked from obscurity in Glasgow, Rab Dillon is about to become the next great protest singer.
3cities.gif
Seduced by promises of stardom and carrying only the guitar given to him by the girl who broke his heart, he travels down the road to London. There, he records his debut album that will speak to the dispossessed, the disenfranchised, and the disheartened. But one year later, he is sleeping rough on the streets of Brighton.

A modern-day ballad set across three cities and two years, The Busker is a rich comic exposé of the music industry, the Occupy movement, homelessness, squatting - and failing to live up to the name you share with your hero, Bob Dylan. It is also the story of what survives ...

Songs about Buskers by Buskers and for Buskers by BC on Mar 1, 2014
:sing: (BOULDER, COLORADO) If your're a musical busker or even if you're not, take a listen to a variety of songs made especially for the busking and performing arts.

The songs are created specifically by Busker Films and can be heard in video documentaries found over at the famed Busker Alley website. The productions are symbolic of the quality and style found in "The Alley".

The songs showcase different attitudes towards the street-performing arts. Hated by some and loved by others, the songs portrays the busker moving town to town doing their shows and entertaining the masses en route to...who knows where?

"Busker Alley: The Movie" features the song "Road 2 Freedom". Other original compositions including high-energy performance music and even a rap are featured on the website.

Philadelphia Freedom: The 10 Best Buskers and their videos by BC on Jan 1, 2014
:guitar: (PHILADELPHIA) Let's take a trip down the way to see the 10 best buskers Philly has to offer - at least that's the working theory.

Although some are wondering where Gregory Underwood, the U of Arts students, and the B-boys-breakers are, it's a safe bet that these street-performers represent the city well.

Relax watching the "King of the buskers" featuring street-musicians doing what they do best - covers. But not all buskers featured fall into this category. There are rappers, guitarists, hang drums, and crooners. There is hip-hop, classic folk, and upbeat, jazzy wooden flute styles.

Songs include, "Eat, sleep, sh!t, work", "Smoke on the water", “A Change Is Gonna Come”, "Counting Your Curses", and "Fanfare" among others. But don't take our word for it. Go ...
